I rowed crew in High School and College, raced sailboats on San Francisco Bay and offshore. After a career in tech I got serious about paddling. My wife introduced me to kayaking 20 years ago and we’ve done a lot of camping trips across the US together. Eight years ago I did my first 300 mile Everglades Challenge but failed to finish. In 2018 I set the class 1 record which had stood for 13 years.
My preferred kayak is a surf ski because that is where you really learn the forward stroke. You cannot hide mistakes from a narrow light ski and a knot meter! I excel in working with composites and have done extensive repairs and modifications for my fleet and others.
